Sofia is a robot that looks and thinks exactly like a human. She is an artificial intelligence that can think like us, talk like us , and feel emotions like us. Although people think robots are a threat she is a huge step in science, she can lead the way in many other things. They way they designed Sophia , was designed to look like Audrey Hepburn. The steps they performed Sofia was tremendous.
What is Sophia?
She is an artificial intelligence made by Hanson Robotics. Sophia is a fully functioning robot that acts human but is not quite.It took Hanson Robotics years took construct and code this robot. It is a pride and joy for this company.
Where was Sophia made?
She was made in Hong Kong by Hanson Robotics. Hanson Robotics main production site is in Hong Kong.Sophia though does not stay in Hong Kong. She is all over the world being presented.If she is not being presented she is in Saudi Arabia. She has became a full citizen of Saudi Arabia.She is the first robot to be a citizen of a country.
Why was Sophia made?
David Hanson dreamed of making one of the most sophisticated artificial robots of its time and be the first to do it. He then gathered the lead programmer and many of the lead staff members to work on this project. In one of the lead programmers articles he said" We feel that for realistic robots to be appealing to people, robots must attain some level of integrated social responsibility and aesthetic refinement,"This drove the developers to change peoples minds.
When did this all happen?
April 19, 2015 was when they first showcased her. But she was not fully finished yet.They showcased her in Austin,Texas to get feedback. They still had to put some emotions and expand her vocabulary.She is still in a work of progress.They are still trying to make Sophia perfect to this day.
